Councilwoman Sherri Jorgensen was elected to City Council in 2021.
Councilwoman Jorgensen has lived in Boulder City since 1997, raising her family here. When her youngest child graduated from high school, she dedicated spending more time serving the city.
Councilwoman Jorgensen was born in Cedar City, Utah, and moved to Henderson, NV as a baby. She was educated in the Clark County School District, graduating from Basic High School in 1985. She received her bachelors degree in Education from the Southern University of Utah in 1989.
Councilwoman Jorgensen met her husband Mark while working at the old Pizza Hut here in Boulder City. His first job out of college was in Boulder City NV flying Grand Canyon tours. They were married in 1989 and had four children. She worked as an elementary school teacher in the 1990's.
Councilwoman Jorgensen served on the State Committee for Early Intervention, determining services for individuals with developmental delays birth through three years old. She also served on the board for the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern NV, including as the agency's Treasurer.
Before her election to City Council, Councilwoman Jorgensen served on the Allotment Committee for Boulder City for three years. She also volunteers at Meals on Wheels. Her current term ends in November 2024.
