Communications

Boulder City Police Department's Public Safety Communication Division is located in the Boulder City Police Department and is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Inbound Calls

  • The Communications Department monitors and transmits information on 18 Police channels, 7 Fire channels, and 1 Public Works channel. All channels are monitored 24/7. Additionally, Dispatchers monitor Municipal Court and airport cameras as well as enter warrants for both Municipal and Justice Courts.
  • Cell phone callers trying to reach 911 may occasionally get either Metro or Henderson Police Department. These calls can then be transferred to Boulder City 911.
  • Communications staff do priority medical dispatch, which involves giving pre-arrival instructions to the caller while waiting for medical services to arrive on scene.
  • 911 lines are answered within two rings. If a Dispatcher is handling a 911 call, the response for non-emergency lines may take longer than two rings.

Certification & Protocol

The Communication Division Members are Emergency Medical Dispatch certified. The use of protocol cards ensures that each medical emergency receives the same level of expertise when the 911 line is answered, the initial point of contact. The dispatchers are able to give vital information to the Rescue personnel responding and can guide the caller in basic care of the patient prior to Rescue's arrival.

Fingerprinting Program

Boulder City citizens, people working within Boulder City, or those who work for the Veteran's Home or Homestead can also have their fingerprints taken for special licensing on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may also call 702-293-9258 for more information on the fingerprinting program. Our agency does not provide the fingerprint cards, you must get those from agency that requested you obtain fingerprints. Remember to bring a valid identification in addition to your fingerprint cards.

Nonemergency Services

The Communication Division allows any person calling from Boulder City dialing 311 to reach the nonemergency line at the Police Department. This service was put in place to ease the nonemergency calls to Dispatch. If using a cell phone, dial 702-293-9224 to reach the Boulder City Police nonemergency line.
